Women’s Big Bash League 2026–27 Preview

Women’s Big Bash League

The Women’s Big Bash League is back again. This is season number 12. People also call it WBBL12. It starts on 29 October 2026 and ends on 5 December 2026. Hobart Hurricanes won the trophy last year. They will try to win it again

What Will Happen in WBBL12

There will be 43 matches in total. The first day has two games in Melbourne.

First game is Melbourne Renegades against Sydney Thunder. Second game is Melbourne Stars against Hobart Hurricanes. All teams play each other two times. Then the top teams play in the finals. This year teams can pick overseas players more freely. The old draft system is gone.

The Eight Teams

Here are the eight teams in a simple table:

  • Highest team score: Sydney Sixers made 242 runs

These numbers show how strong the players are.

Simple Guide to Betting Markets

Betting means putting money on who will win. It can make you lose money. Only do it if it is allowed in your place. Never use money you need for other things.

People mostly bet on these things:

  • Which team will win the whole tournament
  • Which team will win one match
  • Who will score the most runs
  • Who will take the most wickets

No one can say for sure who will win. Cricket changes fast. Just enjoy the game.

Final Thoughts

Hobart Hurricanes start as the champions. But Perth Scorchers, Sydney Sixers and Melbourne Stars also look strong. The full player lists will be clear soon. You can check all match times and results on the official Cricket Australia website. This season should give us good cricket and some new records. Enjoy watching!
